What are your guys opinions on lighting?

The lights I got with my tank are not that good. They are 2 single fluorescent housing units with 1 bulb maybe 16" long each.

To me and all the pics I've seen it seems as lights can make or break your tank's over all apperance. My water is still on the slightly cloudy side due to the sand still being in the kind of new mode..., heard it may take up to a month for it to really settle down and for the water to really look crystal clear. I have a black poster background and was thinking to change it to the blue side to lighten my tank up. I was also thinknig of getting a new lighting system.
I was thinking of getting a system like this for my 100 gallon

Do you think that would be too much lighting for a 5' tank?

Have any links to other systems?
Thanks

I used compact flouescent can lights in my DIY hood. each has 2 26 watt CF bulbs...its nice white light and looks great.
