I'm curious to find out what everyone uses for lighting on there fw tanks. I have 2-3' double bulb flourescent 1 sun glow and 1 blue bulb. Im looking to change things up.. Any suggestions. I may buy t-5's. are they worth it for fw?

Im not sure what you mean by a 'blue bulb'? Actinic? 10,000k? 20,000k?

T-5's will be a waste unless you are needing it for plants.

No need for that much lighting for a fish only tank. Infact your fish would probably be less happy in bright light.

For my fresh water I use 5000-6500k lightings in a T-8 bulb.

When I did salt I used 10k Metal Halids, and actinic 420nm compacts

With my Orbit fisture I used combo actinic3/460nm and combo 6700/10k daylights.
 
I use T8 fluorescents, except one 29 which has a T5HO light because its going to be planted. 18,000k bulbs are my favorite.
