whatever you perfer, but if your trying to grow plants, you want to buy something that burns over 6500k

depends on your background and fishes. usually contrast colors have a great effect.

plants, 6,500 - 10,000K (i prefer 6700K)

general use, 10,000K - 18,000K

honestly though, u can use whatever u want if its general use..
