how can i dim my tank lights??? and are reef lights going to kill my freshwater plants

what kind of lighting system do you have? what bulb colors?

4 high output t5 2 10000K and 2 Actinic blues idk the K??? but its like 156Watts total 36 inches

Do you mean dim as in dimming from off to on and vice versa, or just less output overall for one setting?

The only ways to make less light go into the tank are, to filter the light (ie. use something to block out light, either through the object, or by reflecting the light), or reduce the number of bulbs.

The reef lights won't kill the plants, but the actinic won't help them much either.
