By the looks of it, the black plug is for the lamp and AC goes to the white plug.

right, I know that, but can I just use a short extension cord to wire the white plug into? I'm thinking so, but just wanted to double check. Oh, and two of them will be going in the canopy, but you think I should wire then together or seperately so I could turn one on earlier and so forth? Thanks.

Try to find out which wire is the hot side and which isnt. The white plug has DC colors but it's an AC ballast.

Confusing..

Either put a switch on one or wire both separately for timers, but extension cords are fine.

OK, rallysman...I got a 21" hi-res monitor and I can only see ONE colored wire!!!

Most ballasts are isolated so just matching the same colors to the high side would work.

Unless otherwise specified.
