I'm just curious after reading another thread .I have the lights on my 125 gal go on 2pm and go off 900pm on a timer,i just read where someone keeps the lights on 12hours ,is mind to little or is his to much????????

I don't see a problem with either

Its really up to yourself. If your not getting excessive algea build up feel free to increase the time you have them on. I used to have my lights on from 2-10 but realised it was a waste of time and money and only have them in when im in the house.

So, do the fish not mind being in the dark most of the time?

My tank is in the livingroom and is next to the west facing patio windows so it gets plenty of natural light. I have the lights on for a couple of hours in the morning before i go to work and then the wife turns them on around 5pm till about 10pm.
