Hope this helps answer the question of "What can I put in with an Electric Catfish?"

Let me know what you think of my crew...If you're nice, I may post some pictures of my friends in our other tanks too...

Looks awesome! My EC murderized several fish before getting a tank on his own.

no not all eupterus. Actually the black one that you asked about isnt even from the same family. He's actually a bagrid cat, called an Asian Upside Down catfish. Mystus Leucophasis. And to be honest, i think one of the cats you called eupterus is actually S. Ocellifer. the one in the tenth picture. The spotting is off, and the coloring is weird for it to be eupterus. So my guess would be You have three different Synodntis species and one species of bagridae.

Syno Ocellifer

Asin upside down catfish.

how do you like your pleurops?? my lfs by my school has them frequently and i think that they look really cool yet bizarre at the same time.....

What is the temerment? does it hide all the time? anything different from the other synos that you have??

and i would say that you have at least two ocellifer from looking at your last picture. They are in the center of the three eupterus.

Thanks to all for the feedback, and especially for the ID's on these ones. I had thought those 2 Ocellifer's were something different, but counld not figure out what.

As for the pleurops, he is actually a quite a character. His movement seems more awkward than other syno's, he seems to swim with a a cute waddle. Probably the most active all all the syno's in the tank. Always out & about. Likes to stay upright against the glass, not down on the bottom with the other synos. Hungry little bugger, really likes veggies. When I feed flake, he hangs out upside down at the top just sucking it all in.

The cutest thing he does is whenver I do anything around that tank he does "Loop-de-loops" coming up to the top to eat, even if i'm not feeding right then. Once he realizes there's no food there, he'll start back down. Then as if he forot there was no food, he'll loop back up another 2 or 3 times just making sure I didn't sprinkle any food in...My daughter named him "Goofy Goober" after seeing this behavior.

Nice tank!
