Hello everybody
I bought a light dimmer or sunriser.
When the light goes down slowly i only goes down to 1 - 3 % of the maximum light.
In the folder it says that its like moonlight and it´s normal to the fish.
Anyone who can tell me if it is ok with really week light all night.
The tank is with arowanas, cichlas and rays.

Hope for your help.

Michael

Great question. I'll be looking for replies from others, but you might want to post this in general aquaria discussion section. A lot of people will have comments and ideas.

Moonlight is completely natural to fish, I've been using them for years. Not only is it natural to the fish it's very pleasing to the eye as well, I love watching the fish swim around in the soft blue ambient light :)

+1
i use led moonlights. My fish love me and the tanks look badass. You gotta think in nature there is always some ambient light penetration into the water. Even at night. Unless you have deep deep deep water species.

best thing I did was add moonlights to all my tanks, the fish love it, and it is nice to be able to watch the fish moving around at night, keeps them from getting skittish when you turn off the main lights in the tank as well.
