Lights on?

I have only been keeping my lights on for a few hours a day with the live rock only as to not get a bad algea bloom. I am going to start adding fish this week and was wanting to know if iI should still limit my lighting or if I should go ahead and leave them on all day? The LFS guy has no answers to any of my questions so I am counting on the people on this site for help. Thanks

what type of fish do you intend to keep?
do you have any sort of clean up crew?

Your tank should be cycled if your adding fish and you should have no nitates so start turning it on for longer.
