How often are you supposed to replace your flourescent lights? I have had mine for like three years now and didn't know if I should just wait until they go out or replace them now. I have no live plants.

Do you like the way your tank looks with them or are you ready for something different..
Lights for me have been fun over the past year do to i've bought and sold a few tanks that i have taken my favorite pieces off of and lights from each have at least been placed on my tank just to see the different colors
My newest score was a 48" coralife with 10000k 65 watt actinics and daylights... 20.00 retail is from 175.00 to 259.00 YES!!!
But my tanks has changed colors and i find that i like the changes every time... Gives me variety!! And keeps the colors of my fish new as well!!...
But if you like what you have wait til they burn out...

If its a planted tank I think your supposed to change the bulbs every 6 months. If there are no live plants, then just replace them when they burn out.
