If it was one of the expensive collector's item ones, then I fully understand people needing medical attention; the blade on those particular ones is made of a single piece of thick hard plastic and does hurt when you get hit by it hard enough. A friend of mine has two of them, and we pretended to be Jedi when we were younger; you will definitely take a few bruises if you get hit by one of those as we learned.

Now if these were the cheap & flimsy collapsible ones, then the cops were just big babies...
