I was a a lfs today and saw a great looking 4"-4 1/2" male rd. It doesn't go up for sale till the 11th (quarantine). I asked the clerk how much it was going to be when it is up for sale but he said I have to talk to the fish manager when she is working. He said the manager wasn't happy with the fish because of the deformity, and she might let me have it at cost! The only problem is it has a deformed tail. It's not a bad one but its tail fin goes straight back from the point it starts. It doesn't fan out full like normal ones. I didn't notice it at first. Is this a common deformity with fh's? Is this from inbreeding? What are the chances this deformity will this be passed down to the next generation?
I have a female rd fader that is ready to breed and this guy (minus the deformed tail) would be a great candidate for pairing up with her. Should I get it for a mate or no?
