Ok so I have a 220 just put a thin layer of gravel in it a want to add a rock pile where the gravel stops will it bust the glass? The stones are about20 to 25 pounds each a have 4 lol hurry plz

Stones at my LFS are so costly but I didn't know if real river stone was different I washed and scrubbed them so no worries their

Not unless you throw it into the tank. I have rocks in my 75G that weigh over 40 lbs a piece; and your tank has thicker glass. Just put a fluorescent light diffuser (egg crate) over the bottom if you're worried.

I placed 50lbs of river rock in the bottom of my Marmokrebs grow out. Just don't dump them in, place them on the bottom.

wow cool video, ive always put large rockpiles on one side of my tanks for the smaller or shy guys to hide and play in but i always worried about if im putting too much in. I guess Ill be cautious but wont worry too much anymore!

I generally don't put rocks weighing in excess of 25 lbs directly on glass, especially if they aren't round. But there is plenty of evidence to suggest I'm just goofy though. I have a 80 lbs rock and its been in several tanks I always pile up substrate under it while I set it down then thin it out and move it around after the rock finds its final resting place.
