lil planted tank

i like it, i can never get a planted tank to survive lol....i have no problem with animals (fish included) but plants *shivers* i have the touch of death.... :(

Filtration - on a 20 gallon tank how would a 30 gallon bio-wheel work, i have no idea on the subtrate! lol...there are rocks sold at petsmart that are saposto be spacificly for planted aquariums....duno if i should waste my money on it or not :-\
What kinda lighting? should i go for a regular aquarium hood or get one of those 4 light fixtures from homedepot\lowes and just throw some aqua-glow lights in there?

i reeeeeaaaallllyyyyy wana set up a planted tank so i can put my angels in it...start with 20, go to a 40 breeder :D
 
i'm not sure on a 20 but on mine have some black sand type subtrate with a coral life deluxe double strip. It has 2 18 watt lamps. And i have a penguin 100 filter. You might want to add Co2 but i didnt make a thread in the planted tank forum
