Lily pads??

I just thought of a awesome idea involving lily pads in my 300 gallon. How can I grow them? Do they need to be potted to do best? I'm sure they require a lot of light. I can do that but what else?
If you have pads in your tank post pics! I would love to see it.

It's prob not much to look at but it would be cool to see the fish navigate through them and have an open top so you can see when they flower.

im wintering them in my 300 with 14 rbp. there is also a arow head plant. i also had a bunch of hyasenth but they didnt make it.i have a screw in cfl right over them.hoping to invest in some better lights this summer

Nymphoides aquatica (banana plant) will produce lily pads.
