Im wanting a Lima shovelnose for my 300 but im kinda wanting a group of clown loaches too. will this work? any advice on yay or nay and why? thanks!

Maybe if the loaches are 6"+. But if it doesn't work, thats an expensive feeder.

If the lima attempts to eat them, either way, the lima chokes to death from their spines. There is no way you can really mix both species unless the clowns are bigger than the lima which in this case is very much impossible considering their growth rate.

What sizes are both species?

don't own either yet, i like to do a bunch of reading and talking to more educated people than myself before i try anything.

so we're saying a no?

I would forego the Lima catfish. It's just too much of a risk of death for both species.

thats kinda what ive been thinking. a few clown loaches that got thick and hearty in a couple years would be pretty sweet. :D

ya def go with the clown loachs
