lima feeding

Alright so i know the basic needs of most catfish but have never had a lima. this fella is 5", got him yesterday. hasnt eaten yet. doesnt seem to notice my chopped shrimp for the pbass or the freeze dried krill or the pellets and sticks. im afraid this means he may want live. what should i offer him to start. I DO NOT WANT MY PBASS TO START TAKING LIVE AGAIN. just in case that wasnt clear, thats my main concern. is it just to early to start to worry?

you should put the shrimp on a stick and get really close to him just brushing his whiskers they prefer live but once they get use to the smell they will eat it off the bottom

why not put it in a separate tank and try to wean it off feeders there, so it doesn't affect the cichla's progress

i dont have another tank that would accomodate it at the time.
