Lima shovel nose catfish

Last week I got a 7" Lima shovel nose as well as a 5" veiled tiger Oscar. Now a week later I tested the ammonium and was shocked to find the level at about 3. Is there anything I can do to lower the level? Also my shovel nose has been hanging upside down on my pipe for the airator. Would really appreciate some help, don't want him die

Is he up straight with his face down? If he is its a characteristic of limas, they all do it

yup my lima holds on with his whiskers and just hangs upside down thats how they hide

Great thanks, I was scared since the ammonium concentration was VERY high, thought he was getting poisoned
