im about to buy a lima, maybe 2 for a 75 gallon tank im getting soon. it will be overfiltered with a medium sized air pump. i just want some tips on these guys and how to set up an appreciatable aquarium for them. pictures of your lima set up will help me the most. all other tips on them are welcome. just wanna make the best out of the fish. :nilly:

I used to aquascape in the middle (front to back) of the tank. I moved my driftwood and plastic to the back of the tank to give them more room to turn and swim. They don't seem to hide as much anymore. I plan to remove most of it as they get to full size. I think I have too much light also. Definitely a work in progress. 125gal btw

Thanks, Yeah sometimes they do this thing where they will hover above one another then the bottom one will slide out and move to the top, and they'll all shift down. Kind of like the olympic inline bike riders.

Opening the tank space up seems to have calmed them down, They used to freakout whenever I walked up to the tank. Now I can put my face right up there and they will come up and try to check me out through the glass with their barbels, Cool Cats.

no, there's a pleco sp. I got from walmart and 1 parachromis louiselli, female about 5".

I have an overstocked 55, with cichlids and silver dollars. the Loisellei was in there but getting picked on badly so I moved her.

Originally, I had a gold saum (around 8" now) in there with the limas, but I've had him in a 30 for some time now trying to clear up a stubborn case of septicemia. He got along much better with the limas.

I'm currently looking for another six foot tank and then I plan to go back to the original setup, limas plec GS, hopefully for life.
