Well i dont know how big their mouth is. Say about a 12" catfish, how big would the fish have to be to be safe...

taller fish would be a good option mine is around 6-7 inches with my 2inch red tiger mota is safe but mine doesnt seem to care for fish loves my DIY food

Just keep the fish that you house him with around his size. If you have a 12" catfish, you wont try to put a 4 incher in there with it. But then agian, you never know.

If you have a 12 inch cat in there i'd keep nothing smaller than 7 inches or so.. Cats have very large mouths and can swallow fish you'd never think they could..

i've had very good luck with mine. i've kept them with 3" pimelodella gracillis, 1" convicts, mollies, danios, and the only fish they ever ate were knight gobies.

I have a 12 inch Lima,the only thing he has eaten so far were 2-3 inch Tin Foil Barbs.
