I thinking of getting some just wonder would 2 be ok in a 5 x 2.

also are they messy eaters and where about do they normaly swim top middle or bottom?

You could keep a lima in a 5'x2' for a long time there not messy eaters they swallow every thing hole and they will swim in the middle to bottom area

Mine were never very active and yeah you could put two in there for a longg time. And they are pretty efficient eaters too

Tank would be fine,they are super easy to train to hand feed my 2 will stick there"shovels" out of the water and take food"raw shrimp" from my hand.
