I am doing reserch no lima shovelnose catfish and I can not find anything on there growth rate.
Can all of you lima owners let me know what I can expect with weekly waterchanges and a healthy diet.

Also, how hard is it to pellet train lima's?

Thanks in advance, Ken

Slow growers compaired to RTC or TSN. They usually only get 12-24" in captivity and mine only eats Massivore pellets and Talapia.

i had one i got when it was about 11-12 inches and in about a year i think he was 13-14 inches...never grew one out but as far as i know they are slow growers.

So maybe a foot in a years time or slower?

A little less, but I think it's possible with the right diet. I heard of people geting them to a foot in a year, just not mine.

Dude in a 560gal you have way more then enough room for one of these fish. My lfs had one for 8 moths and it was only 6-7".
