so i got a lima shovelnose, hes like 4 inches long, he doesnt seem to eat i feed him sinkin pellets,,hes doesnt seem to act like the other limas i read bout, or any other catfish for that matter...does this sound normal? is there anything else i can try feeding him?

They are usually picky when I first get them in the store, but do what rallysman suggested and he should eat pretty quickly.
i have two, one LOVES market shrimp but hates everything else and one LOVES ALGAE DISCS AND CARNIVORE PELLETS by hikari..they are interesting fish
ya, i mean i guess i set my expectations to high for this guy, i have an awesome rhom and a piraya and cariba (my 2 fish shoal that acts like a 14 fish shoal). Will he become more agressive as he gets bigger, cuz he is very small right now? i hope to one day put him and a couple other monsters in a huge tank that im in the process of building, but i dont want to grow him out if he acts the way he has been the last 2-3 weeks
I've never seen my 2 limas eat having owned them for a few months but they still get nice and fat. I reckon they get the sinking pellets or scavenge what the other fish leave.
one of my limas eats only after dark, but the big fat one (14 1/2" after 11 months) eats anytime of the day, and will eat anything just about. I have to feed him 4 whole large shrimp before my MRTC baby can get any. Then after they are both stuffed I can put stuff in for my pleco and my other lima.
