So lastnight i poured myself a nice guinness and pulled up a chair to watch my tank. I was watching the rtc, dempsey and gt swim around thinking i was going to feed them. My lima who was vertical with some plants started to swim around and twitch. He started shaking off pieces of clear skin looking stuff. The thing is noone was even looking at him so it wasnt like he was getting harrassed. When he was done went back to his spot vertical in the plants. Whats goin on

I had a Lima that did the same thing.. It's fine, nothing was wrong with him.. But you might check your water becuase i've been told if your water isn't right they'll do that too,..

Lima do this frequently when stressed, in poor water quality or for sometimes no apparent reason at all - I wouldn't worry too much but would still monitor the fish for other odd behaviour.

:iagree:

Apparently RTC can do that too (never seen myself) - according to the forum it is a sign of water going of tangent a bit

agreed with all....it normal for rtc, lima's, tsn to shed the slime coat.
