Goal: clean terrible lime scale off the 4 20 gal tanks
Product: sunnyside muriatic acid
Number of Cleanings: Planned 2 total, 3 tanks have had 0 passes before test, one tank has had 1 passes before test
Cleaning Method: Dish washing sponge to scrub acid in, only used enough acid to cover inside and outside of tank without it dripping.

Test 1: Do 1 pass on 3 tanks then 2nd pass on 4th tank, in that order.

Results: Good results on the first tank I cleaned with significant scale removal but my sponge was destroyed by the acid, literally dissolved, and the fumes were a great hindrance resulting in the 2nd and 3rd tank, which had the heaviest scale, getting full coverage but limited acid and scubbing. Will need to add more acid on the 2nd pass.
2nd pass on the 4th tank did not result in a significant change from the 1st pass. However 1st pass did result in a significant removal in lime scale.

Test 2: will be done tomorrow, might even do a 3rd pass on tank 4.

Note:These tanks were commercially used and bought on the cheap in hopes of salvaging them. How they got so bad is beyond me. vinegar was used to no avail last summer.
