Limited Out on Dungeness Crabs!

My wife and I went to Netarts Bay crabbing this weekend. The weather was great and we caught two limits (24 crabs) by 1:30 on Saturday. We used chickens for bait, my neighbor raises them so we get our bait for free.

To me Dungeness are the best crabs you can get. We ended up with about 8 pounds of cracked crab, not bad for 6 hours work!

I do love crab!

I hate to tease you guys, but this was last nights salad. We ate claws in butter and crab wontons for appetizers, with crab chowder and salad for the main course. Mmmm crab!

In Washington lately people have been collecting the spawned out Humbolt squid to use as crab bait, guess they love it!

nice catch, we did really good at nehalem 2 weekends ago, you cant beat chicken or turkey for crab bait. they should keep on gettin fatter as we head into winter!!
