Limiting the population of MTS?

I was thinking about getting some MTS for my 55g since they're cheap. From what I've read on this forum, I can limit the MTS population by feeding less. Does this matter if I feed floating pellets that are all eaten up by my greedy oscar?

I don't want to pay for clown loaches or assasin snails(even tho they'd be a nice addition to the tank) to get rid of the MTS

ur oscar will eat some i think. and less food means less snails

Unfortunately, unless the MTS try to get anything floating on the surface, they will simply be unable to sustain their population. My MTS never seem to thrive in my goldfish tank anymore as the goldfish greedily gobble everything.

Yeah i've got two tanks i've added MTS to and i dont' see them much. Every now and then i see baby snails on the glass(when the light comes on), I've never seen more than 2 on my 29g and never more than 3 on a 55. When i've run my hands throughout the substrate to search for them and just incase any gas pockets they may have missed, I've hardly come across as many as i've put in around 10-15 in my 29g over the course of a year and upto 20 in my 55g. I can see some during the day from 1-4 in each tank.

I've got CA/SA's in my 55g so i feed plenty both floating and sinking food, but the fish in this tank are voracious lol


So they are breeding but just not thriving in my tank. Now i've never tried putting vegetables in the tank overnight to see what attaches but i may just to see what comes out lol

It's amazing how some people think they are pests that proliferate like cockroaches and rats despite the MTS' usefulness in preventing dead pockets on the substrate. It was the food issue, notwithstanding the laziness of people to try cutting back on foods and continue overfeeding and keep blaming the snails instead.
