Lince catfish

I made mention of this in another thread but I feel it's worth mentioning here as well,as far back as I can recall lince cats have been sporadically available and only in fairly large sizes until now...Aqua Imports has them in the size range of six to seven inches in length and still quite pricey.

Yes indeed.I might have pulled the trigger on this a few years ago but at this point my days of spending big money on fish are behind me.

Which sizes are they listed at?

Approximately 6-7", 7-8", and 9-10"

freight is pricy where they are coming from that's why the price is so high. if it was coming from Peru the price would been cut 1/2

We had one for sale in UK at one of my favourite shops about six weeks ago at 8”. When I visited it had already been there two weeks with it advertised on their online site. Looked beautiful but I knew price would be >£600 so didn’t bother although wouldn’t be surprised to find it >£1000, hence it still being there when I visited. The hemibagrus variegatus was up for £400 originally so I think if no one buys it the price will come down.

.....in the past I've read that prices were high due in part to the large sizes of the fish that were collected large containers and lots of water was needed for their transport....that does not seem to be the case now.

that is the case for the big lince but the smaller lince seem to be much stronger and can fit in a 60cm box.

where when u get them from peru they come in a almost a 3ftx3ft wooded box with tons of water just like u said.
