Line on FRT shell

Anyone know what this line is? It’s almost symmetrical around his shell.

Looks likes he's getting close the shedding to me. Even tho turtles are mainly aquatic (FRT pretty well strictly) they are still reptiles by the end of the day and still need to shed off old skin to make way for new growth. Granted I'm no expert by any means but that's the way it looks to me so far. Hopefully someone else chimes in with their own 0.2¢.
