Linking aquariums?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Keep them separate. I am not sure why you want to connect them. What are your thoughts? Most fish that you will breed in them will have no interest in going to the other side (if that is the idea). If it is to have the same water parameters, it really does not matter. For filters, just use a sponge filter in each one. That is what you want for the fry anyway. The sponge filters will not suck up the fry into a fry blending impeller like a hob or powerhead. Also, the sponge will grow food for the fry. Sponge filters are a beautiful thing.

Anyone that has to talk down another product to hype theirs is questionable ("Wet Dry Filters need extreme cleaning,") and if a " Refugium will eliminate the excess waste by naturally biologically breaking it down." well enough said about that.

It says 400g capacity, at what bio-load. Not much in the way of bio-material.

The base for this system would have to be very stable to accomodate that connecting bulkhead.

I think I would rather have stacked or cascading tanks.

link 2 aquariums with some pvc. you can even go up over the rim so you dont have to make holes, just prime the pvc n remove all air, when you pump water from 1 to the other, water will flow thru the pvc to keep the two tubs at the same water level.

that skimmer dosent look big enuf for 400 gals....
looks like a coral life super skimmer... that only goes up to 220 gals.... or the one that does not come with the needlewheel pump is 125...
