Lion Fish setup?

I would like to set up a tank for a Volitan, Researching them I'm seeing 50-75 for min tank size. I came across this set up on CL, would this work? Would I need to add anything to it like a protein skimmer? This would be my first salt setup so not sure about everything.

For a volitan, i would personaly go for more towards the 75 gals size of tank...

you should get a skimmer, from what Ive read volitans are a hearty fish you just have to choose wisely on the fish your going to keep with them, as lions will eat anything they can fit in their mouth.

Yes get a protein skimmer with either a fish only or reef tank. Lion fish eat meaty foods which if not all eaten with produce nitrates etc.........
I have a 72 bow, with a Porcupine Puffer, Angel, I run a wet dry filter along with a Fuval FX5 , protein skimmer, and a UV.
