Hi

I have two large lion fish that I would think would be happy in the pond instead of one of my 90gal tanks.
Would they be ok with the black tip , my worry is the black tip poisoning itself by tying to eat it.........

yeah, poisoning should be the last worry on your mind, however if you do construct a big enough pond for a black tip, I wouldn't put the lion fish in there.

Yeah - Lions aren't good with any shark. But especially a very active species like the Blacktip Reef.

Personally - I would suggest keep the lions in a tank - maybe a larger one than the 90 gallons. But a Blacktip Reef definitely needs a large swimming pool size shark lagoon. For a pup - at least a pond of 6,000 gallon (16' diameter) to keep until maturity. For a single full grown adult blacktip reef - you really need a lagoon with at least 700 sq.ft., with more than 25,000 gallons.

Could we get pictures of the Black Tip and the pond? Would be awesome to see... I agree with the others, though, and think that you should play it safe and keep the Lions in a tank. Lions wouldn't be as impressive from a birds eye view, anyway ;)

I would like to show pictures of the black tip in the pond but i see I would just get bashed :irked:.

you'll get bashed more if you say something like that. because now we know you're just keeping it in a puddle.
