How big is your Lionfish??? Mine was about 1.5" when I got him and he is still to small to attempt to ween him. Most silversides are too big, and the appropriate pellets are also too large. Usually though you take live with frozen feeder saltwater shrimp, slowly changing the ratio till only, then move on from there. Some people have luck with getting them to eat live foods for awhile, then letting him go hungry for awhile, say a week or more. Then they add a pellet or thawed silverside. Eventually he gets hungry enough.
Mine would only eat live food like feeder goldfish and ghost shrimp. but live food can have deseises it died like 5 day after i bought it.try freaze dried jumbo krill from tetra this is what you should probably feed him if you cant get him to eat it then try live food anyway
what i did is had small shrimp(live) and every night after a week i would put a tail u know the little flesh of the srimp in the back well take that and dangle it on a stick or i take a small sqid tentical and feed him that way
