Hi
I have a volitan lion and a green wolf eel. Over the course of the last week or so they have stopped eating. Up to this point they ate silversides(thawed). Checked the water and and nothing is different. They will "look" at the food but then move away. The tank has been up about 10+ months after cycling. Could this be seasonal? Should I try some ghost shrimp but am worried it could be hard to get back to silversides. Any suggestions?

i am not sure about the lion fish but i know that eels can be a bit of a pill when it comes to hunger strikes. they will usually only do it when something is wrong. In my case my g. tile was telling me that even though he was sold to me in a freshwater tank and i was told by the salesman that he needed that, he needed marine. but they will sometimes just not eat. one thing i might recommend that i read comatose is a vitamin soak. i dont know what brand you use but i dont necessarily trust the fact that there are about a million silversides in a vat and all of them are being gut loaded before packaging. just silversides alone do not provide a full nutrient spectrum, this might be a contributing factor to their strike. maybe try seafood from the grocery store, believe it or not you might save some money.

Thanks. I will try some fresh store bought seafood, though I didtry some krill but with no luck.
