are lionfish good starter saltwater fish?? how do u setup and maintain a saltwater tank, what is a good size tank for a lionfish


could i just buy a 29g nanocube??? WHAT COULD I PUT IN THAT??? I WANT A LIONFISH, COULD I DO A DWARF LIONFISH?

you can do a dwarf lion in a 29g nano.

But if a lion is going to be your first sw tank...i wouldnt do it.

Get used to how to maintain a saltwater tank with cheap fish first.

And saltwater aint so diffrent from fw other then the way you would filter it, set it up, and the waiting process for it to cycle....the LONG LONG process for it to cycle before i would even try to add expensive fish in.

You mean liverock and livesand? It will help speed things up if thats what your wondering.

dwarf lions need live food but can handle smaller tanks.
volitans and other free swimming lions need large large tanks 90g for 1 year, then minimum of 300G by full adulthood.

filtering is always best done by live rock, and a little aragonite sand around 1-2"
