I have noticed that over the past two weeks my lionfish has not been eating anything. At the moment all he does is just swim at the top of the tank . He has not lost any weight . Should I be concerned with him.

Lol i got my new lions (there's pics of him).
For about a week he wouldn't eat from me, h was only fed live foods, guppies. For now purchase ghost shrimp he'll almost instantly go for them. When you have time go out and purchase an "acrylic fish feeding stick" and buy some frozen silver sides/krill at appropriate sizes. Place the krill on the stick and dangle it on top of the sand as if it was alive and moving......all it take's is patience. Good Luck any help needed I including other mfk members will be more then happy to assist you.

How long have you had your lion? How big is your lion? Anything else happened recently in your tank? How are the other fish?

i have had him for about a year usuallyfeed him raw shrimp and silversides never live foods just frozen he is about 7 incheseverybody else in the tank are eating just fine I guess if he will eat when he wants he's not losing ay weight so that's good just waiting to see
Just keep in mind, that if you've had him for a year, and this is the first time you can recall that's he's seemingly lost his appetite for more than two or three days - - Weight loss, coupled with no appetite isn't the only indicator that a fish is ill. There are actually several afflictions in which you won't notice any significant weight loss until the sickness has progressed to the point where death is more probable than recovery. Don't freak out though, I'm not saying your lion is in fact sick, I just want you to understand that weight shouldn't be the only thing you look at when an appetite is lost, in order to determine severity of the issue.
