Hello,
I have a 29 gallon 30x12x18 tank. I wanted to get one dwarf lionfish, which kind i havent decided on. I have read that 30 gallons is the minimum size tank they live in and putting one in this size tank would be pushing it. Does anyone have any objections to this and if you don't what other fish could i put with it. Also, the tank is folwr.

How many gph would you suggest for a powerhead in this size tank?

in my 29 biocube i have a neon and black and gold damsel with my fuzzy dwarf, though i am planning on removing the damsels soon

the 1 gallon isn't the bad part, its that the tank is 6" shorter than a 30 would be, the added length would be a real benefit (especially for finding a light and lid for it)

GPH if there's only one powerhead (im assuming the tank will be filtered by LR and flow?) like 300ish GPH

Only a dwarf lionfish. It will be fine, just keep a good waterchange going. On the powerheads i would go with two hydor koralia nano phead

Since they make reef tanks clear down to 1 gallon now getting a light system won't be a problem. I have a filter system and a light system on my 10 gallon hospital tank. It even has a lid. The lights that go on it I just go to Pet Smart, Petco, or almost any LFS and buy them. It's just a standard "Cheap" reef tube light that fights a Standard light system that comes with the system. It's not the freshwater tube, make sure you get the White or Blue Marine type.
