IN YOUR HEAD
i have a piccasso triggerfish. i have heard that they are known for killing lionfish. is this true? i would like to get a dwarf lionfish maybe a reg or a fuzzy or both. i will also have a lunar wrasse and a spotted grouper with them. anything i should know or should it work?

i almost just bought them yesterday morning, but the reg lionfish didn't look right. turn out a few hours later when i went to go get some other things at that store it was dead. good thing i went with my gut and waited to ask first or it would have just be a dead fish i bought.

I think the trigger will bite on all the long fins of the lion, even the dwarfs. But I dont know

Yah I have heard nasty things about animals aggressing lionfish. I have a dwarf flame angel with mine but they don't really even pay attention to each other.

my only concern would be the piccasso. everywere i have seen says triggers and lionfish can work, i have just heard this particular sp. (the rino or what ever their scientific first name is) those sp. of triggers are suposed to be expert lionfish killers from what i read. just trying to see if anyone has done this mix and how it went for them. i may just have to do it and see how it goes.

I've got a huma with a volitan. The trigger stays away from the lion...both have been in a 135 for just over 1 year. So far no probs...

I had a 10" volitan living with a niger trigger and they got along fine, lion was much larger than the trigger though. If I remember correctly, the niger trigger was hiding most the time unless it was feeding time. The trigger did hate the coral beauty angel though, but we all did lol.

I had a picasso trigg in with my volitan for a while. They got along fine, the lion was/is about 6-8", trigger was about 3-4". Only problem I had between them was at feeding time. The lion would rob the trigger of food if he was chewing on something. I ended up in feeding them on different sides of the tank. However, my grouper did not like the trigger whatsoever and killed him one night.
