Lionfish sting

It's all about the individual. Some people can't handle pain at all, others can take it without issue. If you're allergic to bee stings then you're gonna have a bigger problem with the lion venom than just pain.

I have been stung and personally it was fairly painful. On a 1-10 scale I would say a 6-7 at the most. For me it was an initial warming of my arm (Where I got stung) and then it spread pretty quickly up my arm. Swelling was next to kick in and then the full blown pain kicks in. The hot water helps but the thing you have to be careful of is if the spine broke off in the wound you could wind up with a pretty bad infection if not treated properly.

So, if you ever get stung by one don't risk it and go the the doctor/hospital to make sure you don't make it worse by treating yourself.

Hurts. Using VLDesign's pain scale, it was about a 9 for me. I was stung on the end of my finger. Felt like I hit the end of my finger with a hammer. It did swell some for a few days. A few months later, the end of my finger was still a bit numb.

This is hilarious! (well not really for you) but my buddy Kevin got stung a while back and he used the exact same description... "felt like someone laid my hand on a table and smashed it with a hammer"....

If you get stung by a lionfish, you are most likely not paying attention.

Lionfish have a very distinct threat position, where they turn their head down, and roll their dorsal spines in a wave like motion.

Pain/reaction depends on how allergic you are to lionfish juice.

I've never been stung but my boss at the store I worked at had been. Said it was a burning pain that doesn't stop and there isn't really anything you can do to stop it. Hot water helps some but really you just have to tough it out, it's not fatal or anything.

I've got stung before quite a few times, felt just like a bee sting to me. But i think it just depends on the individual. Some people can get an allergic reaction to it. oh by the way, just don't get stung by the fu manchu lion, very poisonous.
