Hi, im thinking of buying a volitan, and i wondered if i could keep him as full grown in a 140g tank?

ooh depends what you want in the tank with him?? ofcourse fish only, but what tankmates you thinking?? Im sure you could have a Volitan for atleast a few years before you had to get rid of it, if at all...

That should be plenty of room for a Lionfish

If the tank is wide enough 140 should be alright!

dudesyou can keep themin prettymuch any tank over 24" wide. seriously! 140 is plenty of room! people keep them in like 50's. the only thing that really important is dimensions.

Bit of a broad statement. In a 2x2 a full grown volitan would take up 90% of the tank if he was stretched out and thats without rock. Ide say a 4x2 with crap all rock would be the smallest for life and even that is quite cruel considering the areas they range over in the wild. I know they dont move much unless hungry so dont need much of a tank but its still abit slack.

And yes 55cm wide is close enough for it to work just try to leave as much open swimming space as possible.

i meant like normal lengths of a tank. it just has to be atleast like 18" wide for him to turn around in.
you tank is plenty big enough for any kind of lionfish.
