Lions cove gold zebra

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
srry never tried breeding them! have other zebras!

umm is you pH 8-9?
parameters may not be ight for them!
tank size? and tank mates? zebras usually arent too hard!

also i dont kno what you have but try a larger ratio! like 1:4 male:female!

I have three females and two males but I'm keeping one male separate. All wild stock imported from Lion's cove a year ago.

I line breed M.Estherea and have bred several other morphs without any trouble but these have me stumped. I'm beginning to think that the females are in fact sub dominant males incognito.

how are you sexing them? egg spots? these are very unreliable!

are u venting them? venting shouldnt be wrong!

so you have everything right? try some of the tricks they use for breeding plecos! i have not tried these tricks for cichlids but they work for plecos!

do regular water changes then stop for 2weeks and feed them heavily! then do a major water change with cool water! again i have no idea if this would work for cichlids but cant hurt!

if you look up venting you should see pix of what they look like on each gender!

but yea some people have female zebras that lay eggs and hold with tons of egg spots and sometimes males with like 2 spots!

If the fish are fairly big, greater than 5-6cm long, it is pretty easy to vent. The females have 1 large and 1 small hole.
I would love to see what these fish look like. How about posting a pic or two. I have some zebra golds, male is yellow and the female is an OB. Hvae had them for some time now with the male being around 4-5 in. long.
