liosomadoras morrowi (black jaguar catfish)

i just got a liosomadoras morrowi (black jaguar catfish) from the all day action at the catfish convention. i paid $45 for the catfish. it said that it is a rare catfish and i wanted to now really how rare it is and how much it is worth. the old owner of scales ( now out of business) said retail is $230.

I saw that fish.The value is what you pay for it. Fish prices go up and down in value, but unless you're selling it, it's worth 0.

its not rare, not highly sought after fish. I know places that has the fish still in stock after few months they're not worth 230 that's laughable. Maybe 45 at the most. I turned down those guys that was for sale only for 20 bucks few months back.

Mine was 20 dollars, but he's ten years old. I suspect younger mature specimens fetch a higher price.

i have one and had another not that long ago. I didnt pay much for them maybe 10 for the pair. Definitely not worth 230.

Sorry these pictures are terrible but any one who has kept anything from auchenipteridae knows when there is a log near by its not easy to get pictures of it inside the log.
