i recently purchased a jag cat and cannot get him to eat, normally i wouldnt worry about catfish as i know they will sometimes not eat but the only concern i have is his belly is looking a little sunk in ( didnt notice when i bought him ) ive tried just about everything i have and i get nothing. going to try nightcrawlers tonight in hopes hell eat something wiggly. as a last resort i will buy feeders but would rather not have to go that route. my question to anyone who has any experience with these guys to chime in; Are they pickey eaters?, do they not like being alone? i have him alone right now in quarantine was wanting to beef him up before puttin him in the main tank. any info would be good besides whats on planetcatfish. Thanks

Not picky eaters, but very nocturnal. Feed him in pitch black.
No need for feeders, if his stomach is sunk, he will have to waste too much energy catching them. Start with worms, prawn, and algae wafers. I didn't even see mine for the first couple of weeks, but when I did, he had a huge belly.
As for them being alone, it shouldn't be an issue at all. Make sure he has driftwood or some sort of hiding place. If he's in quarantine, don't even turn on the light; the darker the better.

thanks guys
