I've been having some conversation with other aquarists about whether or not, time in captivity, with processed foods (as opposed to picking on and thru rocky substrate in the Rio Mamoni) will influence the way, or if this Darienheros calobrensus cichlid lips will grow, remain, or shrink over time in captivity.
This seems to happen with Amphilophus labiatus, and other thick lipped cichlid species.

Juvie and adults. I will try and document about a month apart.
Other than a few insects here and there, prepared foods like regular commercial pellets and flakes are there current diet.
