[FONT=Arial, helvetica, verdana, times new roman]All,
I have been contemplating injecting liquid vitamins into the pre-killed rodents that I feed to my pine snakes, especially calcium for my breeder females. Has anyone here done this? If so, what types of vitamin solutions have you used or suggest using?? Where do I find them???
I ask because I was trying to find the old Reptisol vitamins from Tetra/Terrafauna (the one with the dropper sticking out of the top) and have had no luck at all. I guess they have discontinued those, which is a shame.
Thanks in advance for your time and happy herp keeping!!

I would say prekilled adult roedonts are already a 100% complete food for snakes and that they wouldnt need any sort of complement:confused: However dont know if the snake keepers and breeders here would use any sort of suplement

Why are you interested in injecting vitamins? Is there something wrong with your snake? :/

i believe he want to inject them to make sure they get plenty of vitamens.

There's always BSP (Broad Spectrum) Vitamin Drops from Vetark.

Contains:
Vitamins A,C,D,E,B1,B2,B6, folic acid, nicotinic acid, pantothenic acid.

It's about £8 per 50ml, but you use it at a dose of 1 drop per 200ml of water.

Not sure if you could just put a drop into the rodents mouth before feeding or something, but you could always just supplement the water they drink with it?

Dont do it,unless the snakes are ill. Will do more harm than good.If your really concerned about what your snakes eat, breed your own rodents and give them a really good diet.

oooh ok. I dont think he should either, unless its 1)snake is sick and most importantly 2) recommended by a vet. Could overdo it otherwise...

Thanks all. I am more concerned now that my potentially gravid females will have a calcium deficiency. I know of a product called "moon drops" or "solar drops." Do these assist females in calcium replenishment once the females have developed their eggs?
Thanks again for everyone's input!
