Hi.

I have seen that my caribe have some few little black dots on their bodies, similar in size and shape to the ich but this are black as coal.

It's maybe nothing but I want to know if you know what it is?.

Any input please...

hmmm iv heard of black ick, not very common though. could ypu post some pictures?

I could, however I don't think it would work man it is almost undistinguihshable...

Just depict the ich in your mind and imagine it black. Quite odd indeed. I 've never seen or read about this before though.

I've seen it on the 4" rhom I had before...maybe parasite? not really sure what it is.
I thought it's usually on wild caught fish...but you claim your caribes are captive bred...I'm not sure where it came from then.

If the black ich is common in wild caught then the seller lied to me and they are wild caught.

I honestly dont care if they are wild caught or tank bred, what I care the most is to have them clean of that ****.

What should I do JP?.

I would catch one and inspect it closer. Run your finger nail gently down it's side. Thats just me, something that strange I would get a closer look. Do you notice any iching/rubbing? Change in diet or behaviour???

Sounds like a good idea, and nope there is no change in their behavior, they feed normally and act normally.

that might stress the ***** out of those caribes. Armand, can you get some parasite medicine? like Jungle Lab Parasite Clear see if that helps.
my 4" rhom didn't show any sign of sickness when I had it, swims fine and eats well. I traded it in for a larger rhom later. I even saw like one or two on my 11.5" rhom but not on my 6.5" ones.
