Little bocourti and bifa

Got these guys from TheFishJunkie around 6 weeks ago. They've stopped hiding from me and put on some color and size. I'm hoping to get a new lens and a flash in the coming months, but for now I'm using a 50mm f/1.8 on my D40. This means tons of light but no autofocus, bear with me.

Any advice on how to improve my shots? Also, I'm not sure if I'm seeing things, but it feels like MFK mutes my colors slightly.

yous look great compared to mine i have a 30 dollar camera that is pretty crappy those are some awesome fish to btw

the bifa is beautiful

and ur shots are also niiice

its just that clean the glass, the stains will distract a little less
i liked the third pic the most, a little more focus on the fish and an even exposure would have helped a lot though

It was a pretty spontaneous photo shoot since they were being pretty friendly. Didn't want to rub up on the glass and spook them.
