well this morning i saw that my flowerhorn was eating a little fish. it was half way in its mouth so i thought he was just finishing it. after a while of this i left for the day and came back about 8 hours later and the fish was still in its mouth. i took out the fh and the spines in the fins from the little fish were keeping it from coming out or going in. the flowerhorns mouth was wide open for all this time and now that its out, he doesnt shut his mouth much. will this heal? theres no noticable injuries, no blood. it reminds me of how i feel after keeping my mouth open at the dentist.

an ebjd. i hadnt seen the little guy for so long i thought he had died or was eaten so i didnt worry about putting the fh in the tank. guess i was wrong. the fh got a 40 dollar meal. bummer
my male zeus did the same thing it took a few days but it did heal make sure that your fh's mouth is smaller than the tank mates next time
everything is back to normal now. his jaw has relaxed and hes pissed off more than ever! as far as tank mates go, hes riding solo from now on. RIP ebjd.
