I have a picky 3.5" jag who is picky. He won't eat pellets or flake just frozen or live food . I have tried dainichi, nls, Hbh and omega one. But he will starve himself before he tries a pellet. Even if he does try to eat it he will spit it right out. Is there any trick to get this guy to eat pellets frozen/live costs to much

make your own food will cost about 20 dollars and make like 3-4 gallon bags

Starve him, sounds cruel, but thats the only way to condition them.

Exactly, starve it until it eats, fish can go more than a month without food.

also, please type in normal font people, that bold stuff bothers my eyes and makes everything hard to read.

give em like three days before feeding him again and then he'll start to take them, my jags about 1.5' and he takes pellets and guppies

Give him time he will comearound, my Jags got into only eating raw prawns, I starved them, well only offerd pellets for as long as needed........ took them around 3weeks befor they would even try taking them.

:iagree: Jags will eventually eat everything you offer them you just have to train them to eat it everything within reason of course. I am doing the exact same thing (starving them all 17 of my cichlids) because there all young and all are in the training stage. I am trying to get everyone on a full well rounded healthy diet some foods have been easier then others but the starve em out method works. All of them have different needs but it's the same method for all. And most time's 24hrs is enough at the most 72hrs and he will catch on. When he does he'll be hitting them big time.
