Little Lei acting strange!!!

I've had this little guy for a few weeks now and it has been coming along nicely untill this week when I noticed that it now swims around just under the surface with the tip of it's snout cutting the water.It has not eaten anything for a few days as well,just ignores the food that it used to take down with gusto.It now basically swims around in circles in a tilted head up position and it appears to be gasping slightly.This is my first lei and first baby aro,its about three inches in length,and I would really hate to lose it.

doesn't look good.....I would do daily WC and increase the air circulation airstones/powerheads....are your water levels ok ?

check you water levels and conditions how big is your tank??

The tank is a 55gal. growout filtered by an Emperor 400 and my weekly 50% partials.Up untill the lei arrived the only other inhabitants were a four inch jaguar cat(liosomadoras) and a maybe six inch P.Afer knife fish,hardly a burden on the filter.This is a stable tank that has been up and running for more than a year.

this sounds like stress/lack of oxygen,i think your afer knife might be harassing the lei,try adding more air circulation

It actually was divided off from the Afer but I was guessing on an oxygen problem.
